It is part of Elliottonian legend that the man himself has never ever been photographed holding a camera. This is a rare picture of El In the corner of his Darkstudio in 1988. El is a consummate master colour printer. Few photographers ever printed their own colour darkroom prints because of the immense technical hurdles and critical control required. Printing El's Cibachrome originals required one hundred per cent darkness - contrary to popular belief. |
